National security agencies of Belarus, Russia face new tasks due to new world situation

The new international situation formulates new tasks for national security agencies of Belarus and Russia. Director of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Sergei Naryshkin made the relevant statement after a joint session of Belarus' State Security Committee (KGB) and Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service on 7 July, BelTA has learned. KGB Chairman Ivan Tertel took part in the session.

Sergei Naryshkin said: “The new situation in the world, the crisis in Ukraine, and the special military operation create new conditions and formulate new tasks for our two agencies.”

“We identified these tasks during the joint session of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service and Belarus' KGB,” the official noted.
