Lukashenko: We need to think about our children's future

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko explained the importance of the new Constitution and the forthcoming referendum as he spoke at a session to review the outcomes of the public discussion of the new Belarus Constitution draft on 18 January, BelTA has learned.

“We need to think about our children. We are not eternal. We will be gone sooner or later. Our children will stay. We need to think about them. This is the main point of the whole process,” the head of state stressed.

The president urged to explain to people that it is more important to focus on fundamental issues rather than the subtleties that only law specialists can understand. "We should not try and teach law to everyone in one month or a month and a half... Not law students can grasp jurisprudence in five years. Even big specialists do not know everything, even Grigory Alekseevich [Vasilevich, Doctor of Law, Honored Lawyer, Member of the Constitutional Commission], who is engaged in this work, can boast that he knows everything," the Belarusian leader said.
