MINSK, 6 June (BelTA) – On behalf of Belarusian people and himself Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent National Day greetings to the people of Sweden, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
“Being a neutral and non-aligned country, Sweden enjoyed two centuries peace, which helped build an advanced and independent welfare state. Unfortunately, this policy of Sweden, which could become a great example for many countries in Europe and the world, is becoming a thing of the past. Militarization and illegitimate sanctions against neighbors only lead to increased tension and instability in the region, undermine the economy of Sweden. I am convinced that despite all political disagreements and disinformation campaigns against Belarus, our peoples will maintain good relations built on the pursuit of social justice and respect for fair work,” the message of congratulations reads.
The head of state emphasized that Belarus is sincerely interested in resuming a political dialogue with Sweden based on equality and mutual respect.
“Only by expanding cooperation in the economic, humanitarian, environmental and other sectors, Belarusians and Swedes will be able to help bring back peace and strengthen security in European countries,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.
