If individuals or individual countries encroach upon Belarus' sovereignty and independence, Aleksandr Lukashenko is ready to fight against it. With weapons in hands if necessary. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement in an interview with the news agency Agence France-Presse (AFP), BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Lukashenko asked the reporter: “Right now we see what policy Poland pursues in all its splendor. Would you like me to calmly look at the fact that Poland sees entire Belarus as part of Poland? End of their quote.”
“If Germany states tomorrow that it wants to see France as part of Germany, what would you say? So I respond to it harshly,” he continued. “My main functions include the protection of sovereignty and independence of the state. I am doing it. If the opposition fights against it, if some individuals or countries encroach upon Belarus' sovereignty and independence, I will stand upright and will fight against it. With weapons in hands if necessary.”
