Belarusian trams enter service in Kazakhstan

New trams have entered service in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan. Four tramcars of 62103 Model made by BKM Holding have successfully passed trial runs in the city, BelTA learned from the press service of BKM Holding.

This is a single-section three-door tramcar, designed for operation at temperatures from -40 to +40°C. The maximum passenger capacity is 159, the number of seats is 29, the length of the car is 15.7m, the maximum speed is 62km/h.

The tram is equipped with air conditioners for the passenger compartment and driver's cabin, a video surveillance system of six cameras, USB ports for charging phones (three in the passenger compartment and one in the cabin) and the low-floor central part opposite the middle door.

This tramcar was the first serial semi-low-floor model that went into production in 2009. All in all, BKM Holding has already made more than 140 trams that are currently operated in 12 cities.

The line-up of semi-low-floor single-section cars was continued with Model 802. In 2017-2019, a batch of 23 cars was delivered to Pavlodar, Kazakhstan.

Last year, BKM Holding launched the production of fully low-floor tramcars of T811 Model. They have entered service in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod and will be delivered to Barnaul and Samara in the coming months.
