Belarus and Russia do not accept the destructive ideologies the West is trying to implant and they reject attempts to glorify Nazism, reads the statement on the common foreign policy priorities of Russia and Belarus signed by Foreign Ministers Sergei Aleinik and Sergey Lavrov following the talks in Moscow on 17 May, BelTA has learned.
“Our countries are committed to traditional spiritual and moral values and do not accept the destructive and alien ideologies inculcated by the collective West. We are jointly defending traditional values on the international arena and pay priority attention to the protection of a traditional family, mothers and children. We will keep working to counter the politicization of culture, science and sports, as well as to expand contacts between the youth,” the statement reads.
Belarus and Russia are working together to preserve their historical, cultural and civilizational heritage and to counteract attempts to falsify history. “We reject actions to glorify Nazism and to eliminate the common historical heritage. Minsk and Moscow join efforts on international platforms to challenge the rehabilitation of fascism and Nazi criminals,” the foreign ministers emphasized.
“We are trying to raise awareness of important dates in the common history of Belarus and Russia. The two countries will continue strengthening their alliance and strategic partnership, creating conditions for closer integration and interaction in the international arena with a view to promoting their joint priorities,” the statement reads.
