Belarusian agrarians have harvested 8.8 million tonnes of grain (including buckwheat and millet), BelTA learnt from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
About 2.191 million tonnes of grain were cropped in Minsk Oblast, 1.717 million tonnes in Grodno Oblast, 1.428 million tonnes in Brest Oblast. Vitebsk Oblast agrarians cropped 1.362 million tonnes, while Mogilev Oblast harvested 1.116 million tonnes. Gomel Oblast cropped 984,400 tonnes of grain.
According to the Agriculture and Food Ministry, the Belarusian agricultural organizations have still 0.3% of crop areas to combine.
As of 28 August, 27% of buckwheat areas have been cut. The buckwheat harvest has made up 4,250 tonnes so far. The average yield in the country is 12.6 centners per hectare, which is slightly below the last year's figures (14.8 centners per hectare).
Belarusian agrarians still have 3,100 hectares of millet areas to combine. As of 28 August, the millet harvest reached 4,470 tonnes. The average yield is 20.7 centners per hectare, up 0.1 centners from 2014.
