Almost 900 tourist routes have been developed in the Vitebsk region. Svetlana Astanina, head of the tourism and sports and recreation sector of the Sports and Tourism Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, spoke about this at a press conference, reportsBELTA.
“In the Vitebsk region, as in other regions of the republic, tourist routes are being developed to various attractions and places to visit. At the moment, we have developed almost 900 routes, they imply different modes of transportation: walking, cycling, kayaking. The topics are also different accordingly. The route can be dedicated to religious tourism or cultural-educational, military-historical. There are also separately developed routes, for example, in the Glubokoye region - “The Roads of Ben-Yagouda’s Youth,” she noted.
The head of the tourism and sports and recreation sector reminded that in the country, in accordance with the current legislation, excursions and tours for organized groups of tourists can only be conducted by certified guides: “Even if you and your family are planning a trip, then choose a certified guide to get reliable information about a particular object."
Go booklets have been developed for each district of the Vitebsk region - maps of excursion routes for individual tourists. Today, tourist information centers are being created in the region as separate government agencies. In places where there are no such centers yet, tourists can obtain booklets and other information from the departments or sectors of sports and tourism in the district executive committees.
“We are finishing the development of the mobile application “My City”. Starting from about February, this mobile application will operate in every district and city of the region (we have 23 administrative-territorial units). In the “Cornflower Land Life” tab you can build your own route throughout the entire Vitebsk region region," added Svetlana Astanina.
