The system of healthcare in the region features the central regional hospital for 150 beds, regional hospital for 40 beds, regional outpatient department for 250 visits per shift, three district hospitals for 40 beds, skilled nursing facility for 10 beds, two  ambulance stations, two GP stations, 23 doctor’s assistant-obstetrician centers. The staff of the central regional hospital is 50 doctors and 273 nurses. The central regional outpatient department provides medical help in such areas as therapy, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, cardiology, neurology, psychiatry, endocrinology, physical therapy, stomatology and others. There are seven drugstores and two chemist’s kiosks. There are sanatoria Borovoye and Lesnoye in the region.
