The most strained situation on the Belarusian-Polish border remains at the border checkpoint Kozlovichi (the Brest region), BelTA learnt from the State Border Troops Committee of Belarus. “There are no long queues on the Belarusian-Polish border apart from the border checkpoint Kozlovichi. Vehicles cross the border but full traffic has not been restored yet,” spokesman for the committee Alexander Tishchenko underlined. On January 29 about 400 vehicles crossed the border through the checkpoint Kozlovichi. However, there are many-kilometer queues on the Polish side. According to the preliminary information, more than 1,5 thousand vehicles stand in the queues. More favourable situation is at the border checkpoints Warsaw Bridge, Bruzgi and Berestovitsa. Every day about 600-700 trucks cross the border through these checkpoints. Truck queues do not exceed 3-4 kilometers there. According to Alexander Tishchenko, as soon as the Polish side intensifies the work, the Belarusian border guards will be able to increase the number of personnel and to use additional mobile facilities. “Our work directly depends on the activities of the Polish border guards,” said the official. Three days will be necessary to normalize the situation if the Polish border service does not increase the speed of the passage of vehicles, Alexander Tishchenko noted.
