Makei attending 68th session of UN General Assembly

MINSK, 25 September (BelTA) – Foreign Minister of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Makei is currently in New York leading the Belarusian delegation at the 68th session of the UN General Assembly, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus.

The head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry is taking part in a number of international high-level meetings, including the general debate of the General Assembly, a special event of the President of the General Assembly to follow up the efforts made to achieve the Millennium Development Goals, a ministerial meeting of the Group of Friends on combating trafficking in human beings, a high-level meeting on nuclear disarmament, a ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement and others.

Apart from that, Vladimir Makei is expected to meet with representatives of the UN international organizations, foreign ministers of the UN member states to discuss cooperation prospects.
