Belarus sends two helicopters to Türkiye to help fight wildfires

Two helicopters of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry Mi-8 and Mi-26 with water discharge devices have been helping Türkiye fight wildfires for several days, BelTA learned from the Emergencies Ministry.

In the past few days, the Mi-8 extinguished large forest fires in the areas of the cities of Balıkesir, Eskişehir, Çanakkale, Keşan. The helicopters performed 26 flights and made 125 discharges to drop more than 320 tonnes of water. Belarusian rescuers transported five passengers from the places of fire.

The Mi-26 performed ten flights in the Antalya region and discharged more than 140 tonnes of water on the fire sites.
