The Republic of Belarus has sent an official note to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon about the additional economic sanctions imposed by the United States against Belneftekhim, Belarusian State Concern for Oil and Chemistry, BelTA learnt from Belarus’ Permanent Representative Office at the UN. Belarus’ Permanent Representative Office at the UN sent a letter to the head of the UN secretariat with a request to publish the relevant statement by the Belarusian Foreign Ministry of March 7, 2008 as an official document of the UN General Assembly with relation to the agenda item of the 62nd session “Elimination of unilateral coercive economic measures as a means of political and economic compulsion”.
