Belarus' industrial output up by 7.9% in January-August 2023

In January-August 2023, Belarus' industrial output amounted to Br119.4 billion in current prices, up by 7.9% in comparable prices year-on-year, BelTA learned from the National Statistical Committee of Belarus.

In January-August 2023 the mining industry expanded by 4.6% and the processing industry - by 9.4% year-on-year.

The industries producing electricity, gas, steam, hot water, and conditioned air shrank by 1.4%. The output of the industries providing water supply, waste collection, waste processing, waste disposal, pollution cleanup inched up 1.1%.

The industrial production index equaled 113.6% in August 2023 as against August 2022.
