Belarus' export 4.3% down to $33.5bn in January-September
In January-September 2022 Belarus' export of merchandise and services dropped by 4.3% year-on-year to $33.529 billion, BelTA learned from the website of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).
In January-September 2022 Belarus' foreign trade totaled $63.105 billion, 6.2% down from the same period in 2021. Import amounted to $29.575 billion (8.3% down). Surplus of foreign trade in goods and services equaled $3.954 billion, up from $2.802 billion in January-September 2021.
Belarus' merchandise trade shrank by 5.1% to $52.748 billion. Merchandise export went down by 2.6% to $26.795 billion, with merchandise import down by 7.6% to $25.952 billion. Trade surplus totaled $843.6 million. In January-September 2021 Belarus had a deficit of $594.8 million.
In January-September 2022 foreign trade in services reached $10.357 billion, 11.4% down year-on-year. Export of services amounted to $6.733 billion (10.7% down), with import at $3.623 billion (12.6% down). Surplus of foreign trade in services equaled $3.11 billion, down from $3.396 billion in January-September 2021.
