Belarus' export 4% down to $29.3bn in January-August
In January-August 2022 Belarus' export of merchandise and services dropped by 4% year-on-year to $29.319 billion, BelTA learned from the website of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).
In January-August 2022 Belarus' foreign trade totaled $55.172 billion, 5.9% down from January-August 2021. Import amounted to $25.853 billion (8% down). Surplus of foreign trade in goods and services equaled $3.465 billion, up from $2.427 billion in January-August 2021.
Belarus' merchandise trade dropped by 4.9% to $46.082 billion. Merchandise export went down by 2.3% to $23.399 billion, with merchandise import down by 7.5% to $22.682 billion. Merchandise trade surplus totaled $716.9 million. In January-August 2021 Belarus had a merchandise trade deficit of $558.9 million.
In January-August 2022 foreign trade in services reached $9.089 billion, 10.5% down year-on-year. Export of services amounted to $5.919 billion (10% down), with import at $3.17 billion (11.6% down). Surplus of foreign trade in services equaled $2.749 billion, down from $2.986 billion in January-August 2021.
