14,600 foreigners receive education in Belarus

An estimated 14,600 foreign students from 92 countries receive education in Belarus, BelTA learnt from the National Statistics Committee.

The majority of them are from Turkmenistan (8,191 people), Russia (1,554) and China (722). There are also students from Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Iran, Lebanon, Lithuania, Turkey and other countries studying in the Belarusian universities.

There are 53 universities in Belarus. The Belarusian higher education system provides for training a wide range of specialists ready to work in the modern world. The Belarusian higher education system includes more than 400 specialties.
