Global demand. Who comes to Belarus for health resort treatment?

In 2025, residents of 80 countries received health treatment at Belarusian health resorts, Director of the National Center for Recuperation and Health Resort Treatment Gennady Bolbatovsky told journalists ahead of the national meeting to discuss the results of the work of Belarus’ recuperation and health resort treatment system in 2025 and key tasks for 2026, BelTA has learned.

“In 2025, residents of 80 countries visited our health resorts. The year before, the number was 68. This indicates positive growth,” Gennady Bolbatovsky noted. He emphasized that the geography is extremely broad. “The number of foreign visitors also reached its highest level: almost 260,000,” he added.

“At the moment, the largest share of visitors is from our eastern neighbors [Russia],” the director said. “Due to several factors, including the sanitary and epidemiological situation related to COVID 19, the flow of people from the West has decreased. Nevertheless, the geography is expanding, as the figures show. There is growth across all CIS countries. Regardless of the rhetoric of Western politicians, we see steady and stable demand among residents of those countries as well, especially our neighbors (the Baltic states and Poland). It remains quite consistent despite all the obstacles and barriers politicians are creating today.”

According to him, the sector has strong development prospects in this direction.
