Lukashenko extends warm greetings, best wishes to Iran’s supreme leader
Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended warm greetings and best wishes to Supreme Leader of Iran Ali Khamenei as he met with Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Ali Akbar Ahmadian on 13 September, BelTA has learned.
“I would like to ask you convey my wishes and congratulations to the newly-elected president [Masoud Pezeshkian won the presidential election in Iran in July 2024] and also my warmest greetings to the Supreme Leader of Iran Ali Khamenei. We are very old friends and know him well. We are good friends and have known each other for many years,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
Aleksandr Lukashenko met with Ali Khamenei during his official visit to Tehran in March 2023. The Iranian supreme leader praised great potential for cooperation between the two countries. “The level of relations should be significantly raised by using the spirit and will that both parties have for the implementation of agreements,” the supreme leader said.
