White Angel with Black Wings comes to Orsha prison
MINSK, 15 November (BelTA) – Correctional facility No. 8 in Orsha hosted the first performance of the play White Angel with Black Wings under the grant of the UN Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria implemented by the UN Development Program and the Healthcare Ministry of Belarus, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Global Fund grant. The prevention of HIV among prisoners is one of the major goals of the grant. The performance delivered the information about the problem via the prism of emotions. An interesting plot, humor and excellent acting helped hold the attention of the audience from the very beginning of the play, making it a more efficient way of communicating AIDS-related problems than conventional methods. It was the 100th time the National Belarusian Drama Theatre performed the play. The play tells about joy and sorrow, search for sympathy, but first of all, about the choices we make. According to Vladimir Khrol, deputy head of the Orsha correctional facility, the performance served not only prevention, but also education purposes. The actors of the National Belarusian Drama Theatre said that they liked the response of the audience. The acting aroused a storm of emotions. The play will also be performed at correctional facility No. 21.БЕЛТА
