Vitebsk to host conference on parasitology 23-24 September

VITEBSK, 23 September (BelTA) – The international conference on parasitology will take place in the Vitebsk State Medical University on 23-24 September, BelTA learnt from Doctor of Medicine Vladislav Bekish, head of the department for medical biology and genetics of the Vitebsk university. The forum will be held in Vitebsk for the seventh time and will bring together over 140 national and international experts. This year partaking in the forum will be leading scientific centers, educational and research institutions, hygiene and epidemiological services from more than 20 regions of Russia (from Kaliningrad to Khabarovsk), Ukraine, Poland, and all the Belarusian oblasts. The conference will highlight the problems related to parasitic disease spreading, epidemiological control over malaria and tick-borne infections, the impact of parasites and helminthes on the organism. Attendees will review the recent findings in medicine, discuss the issues pertaining to disease treatment and prevention, learn about the latest developments and new comprehensive treatment methods. The conference will be divided into three sections: Medical Parasitology, Parasitism Biological Fundamentals, Veterinary Parasitology. Healthcare professionals will receive training in a scientific seminar on treating parasitic diseases including ascariasis and trichinosis. The conference is organized by the Healthcare Ministry of Belarus, the department of medicine of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Vitebsk State Medical University.
