Vitebsk to first welcome Union State youth cycling race

VITEBSK, 23 May (BelTA) – Vitebsk and Orsha are gearing up to welcome the participants of the Union State youth cycling race, Youth of Russia and Belarus – the Road to the Union State Future, BelTA learnt from head of the department for youth affairs of the Vitebsk oblast executive committee Valery Kunashko. The cycling race is dedicated to Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. Joint activities of youth from Russia and Belarus help create the system of spiritual and moral values aimed at creative activity, development of cultural relations between young people, stressed Valery Kunashko. The race begins in Smolensk Oblast. In Belarus it will be go through three regions: Vitebsk, Mogilev and Minsk and will conclude on 27 May at the Mound of Glory. The event will bring together about 60 people aged from 18 to 35. Vitebsk Oblast will be first in Belarus to welcome participants of the youth rally on 24 May. In Vitebsk the young people will have a rest and will go to Orsha the next day where they will visit the war memorial and take part in the workshop “Development of creative and intellectual potential of the youth of the Union State.” Then they will head to Mogilev, Berezino, Borisov. There they will meet with veterans of the Great Patriotic War and visit the war memorial Brilevo Field.
