Vitebsk oblast to partake in business forum in Latgale
DAUGAVPILS, April 23 (BelTA) – The Days of the Vitebsk oblast opened in Latgale, Latvia, on April 23. The business forum will last till April 25, BelTA learnt from Deputy Chairman of the Economy Committee of the Vitebsk oblast executive committee Konstantin Chernyi. Latgale is Latvia’s eastern part bordering on the Vitebsk oblast and maintaining close contacts with Belarus. It includes six regions with the centres of Balvi, Ludza, Rezekne, Preili, Kraslava and Daugavpils. Nearly 60 companies, from such giants as Naftan and Vityas to municipal tinned plants and small private companies, will display their products and take part in a contact and cooperation exchange together with the businessmen of Latvia. The cultural potential of the Belarusian region will be presented by almost 20 collectives, with concerts in the Daugavpils Palace of Culture. Agreements on cooperation and plans of cooperation events will be signed between the Vitebsk oblast executive committee and the Latgale local government, the administrations of the town of Vitebsk with Daugavpils and Rezekne, the Braslav, Miory, Verkhnedvinsk, Vitebsk, Glubokoye regions with the regions of Latgale.БЕЛТА
