Vitebsk Oblast to focus on vulnerable employment in 2011

VITEBSK, 3 February (BelTA) – Vitebsk Oblast is set to provide its most vulnerable category of residents with more than 3,000 jobs this year, BelTA learnt from the department for employment of the committee for labor, employment and social security of the Vitebsk Oblast executive committee. The most vulnerable category of workers include people with disabilities, parents of large and one-parent families, former prisoners, young people under 21. This year the employment service will attach particular attention to the people with disabilities. At least 300 jobs were booked specifically for them. The costs of the employers who create jobs for people with disabilities will be offset. There are plans to set up 44 jobs for the disabled. Some Br1.2 billion will be allocated to fund relevant expenses. Fifty people with disabilities will be placed into jobs in accordance with the regulations on their adaptation to work environment. This means that during the year employers will be reimbursed the cost of wages for people with disabilities, including all taxes. For these purposes Br260 million will be allocated. In 2010, more than 2,500 people with disabilities were placed into jobs in Vitebsk Oblast.
