Vitebsk Oblast, Lori Province of Armenia sign cooperation agreement
VITEBSK, 16 July (BelTA) – Vitebsk Oblast of Belarus and Lori Province of Armenia signed a cooperation agreement on 16 July. Participating in the signing ceremony were Chairman of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee Alexander Kosinets and Governor of Lori Province Arthur Nalbandyan, BelTA learnt. The agreement stipulates major areas of in humanitarian and economic cooperation of the two regions. “Vitebsk Oblast is interested in bolstering industrial and agricultural ties,” Alexander Kosinets noted. In order to implement the agreement he suggested elaborating a concrete plan of action for all industries, including state and private sector. Artur Nalbandyan expressed confidence that the document will lay the groundwork for mutually beneficial cooperation of the two regions. In the next few days cooperation agreements will be signed between Vitebsk and Armenia’s Vanadzor and between Orsha and Spitak. Vitebsk Oblast-Armenia trade stood at $456,000 in January-May 2012. Belarus’ export reached $153,100. Belarus' major exports to Armenia were tinned milk, wires, sawn goods and linen fabrics.БЕЛТА
