Vitebsk Oblast, Germany’s Lingl to sign agreement on ceramic plant

VITEBSK, 18 October (BelTA) – Vitebsk Oblast and German company of Lingl are set to sign an agreement on the construction of a wall ceramics plant at the Belarus Investment Forum in Frankfurt am Main, BelTA learnt from deputy chairman of the economy department of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee Konstantin Chernyi. The new company is planned to be set up at the Obol Ceramics plant. The estimated capacity of the future plant is 75 million conventional bricks. The porous bricks will weigh less than the usual ceramic materials and posses higher heat-protection properties similar to those of wood and foam concrete. Marketing researches revealed that these products are in demand both in Belarus and abroad. The total volume of investments is more than Br70 billion. Vitebsk Oblast is set presented two more projects at the Belarus Investment Forum. The projects will be highlighted during the presentation, New Opportunities for Infrastructure Development within the Customs Union of the Republic of Belarus, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan. The first project is a logistics center at the Orsha Aircraft Repair Plant; the second one is another logistics center at the Vostochnyi airport in Vitebsk. Belarus Investment Forum will take place in Frankfurt am Main on 17 November as part of the Euro Finance Week in Germany. The forum in the financial center of Europe will draw the attention of international organizations, investment funds, foreign companies including large transnational corporations. The forum aims to enhance the investment attractiveness, form Belarus’ image as a country with a favorable doing business environment, involve foreign business in the implementation of the country’s investment projects. The Customs Union will be also high on the forum’s agenda.
