Vitebsk oblast, Czech Republic to develop interregional cooperation

VITEBSK, 1 December (BelTA) – The Vitebsk oblast and the Czech Republic intend to develop the interregional cooperation, BelTA learnt from Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Milan Govorka. Milan Govorka leads the delegation of Czech businessmen which is in Vitebsk on a one-day visit. During a working meeting, Milan Govorka and Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee Oleg Matskevich discussed the possibility to establish cooperation between one of the regions of the Vitebsk oblast and one Czech region. During the visit, the Czech delegation met with a group of Vitebsk businessmen. According to Milan Govorka, it is the first trip of the big Czech business to one of the Belarusian regions. The Czech business shows a great interest in the Vitebsk oblast as one of the most developed industrial centers of Belarus. “The main goal of the visit is to get familiar with the potential of the Vitebsk region, discuss the possible avenues of our cooperation”, Milan Govorka noted. The Czech delegation includes heads of banking and insurance organizations, the companies engaged in energy, construction and chemical industry.
