Vitebsk local lore museum to present innovative souvenirs

VITEBSK, 20 June (BelTA) – The Vitebsk Regional Local Lore Museum is preparing innovative souvenirs for visitors, Director of the Museum Gleb Savitsky told a press conference timed to the opening of the international holography exhibition “Holography 2012. Vitebsk”. In cooperation with one of the organizers of the exhibition, the museum is preparing artistic holograms of its exhibits. So far the work on three holograms is underway. One of the holograms will feature a most valuable exhibit – a bone cross dating back to the 15th-16th centuries unearthed during an archeological dig in Vitebsk. If the project is a success, the museum will make more souvenirs using modern technologies. The presentation of the souvenirs-holograms will be held at the opening of the exhibition on 29 June. The originals and the holograms will be placed together for comparison. All in all, the holography exhibition will feature over 50 holograms from 14 countries, including Australia, the United Kingdom, Israel, Iran, Canada, Lithuania, Portugal, Russia, Romania, the United States, Turkey, Ukraine and France.
