Vitebsk, Gelendzhik to develop economic cooperation
VITEBSK, April 20 (BelTA) – Vitebsk and Gelendzhik (Krasnodar krai, Russian Federation) signed a cooperation agreement on April 20. The sides also signed an action plan to the agreement, which provides for cooperation in trade, economy, culture, education, sport and tourism. The documents were signed by deputy chairman of the Vitebsk City Council Vladimir Yarovikov and head of the Gelendzhik town administration Viktor Khrestin. For example, industrial companies of Vitebsk and Gelendzhik will get an opportunity to present their products at regional expositions and will establish direct contacts. In July Gelendzhik will present its investment projects during the Slavonic Bazaar Festival in Vitebsk. In an interview to BelTA Viktor Khrestin said that Gelendzhik is interested in establishing business relations with companies of Vitebsk. The hotel business and public catering sectors which are well-developed in the town are in need in high quality textile and foodstuffs. The Vitebsk Kovry carpet producer, companies of the sewing, meat and dairy industries can find their consumers in Krasnodar krai, Viktor Khrestin said. The administration of Gelendzhik intends to offer the Belwest footwear producer to open a chain store in the town this year. The administration of Gelendzik is also interested in studying the experience of the utilities economy of Vitebsk and its community development projects. In turn, Gelendzhik is ready to give a special offer to travel companies of Vitebsk. The wine producers are also interested in advancing to the Belarusian market. Representatives of Gelendzhik will tour of the Belwest footwear producer, resident-companies of the Vitebsk free economic zone, Vityas TV-set producer and also will see the cultural slights of Vitebsk.
