Vitebsk gearing up Slavonic Bazaar Art Festival
VITEBSK, 28 March (BelTA) – Over Br120 billion has been allocated for the development of the infrastructure of Vitebsk for the 20th Slavonic Bazaar Art Festival in Vitebsk, BelTA learned from Vladimir Terentyev, head of the culture department of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee. Vitebsk City Hall approved the action plan to prepare the city of Vitebsk for the main cultural event of Belarus. There are plans to complete the renovation of the Summer Amphitheater, the Vitebsk Oblast Philharmonic, the Museum of Literature, and the Ilya Repin Museum in Zdravnevo by 1 July. Renovation of the Big Hall of the Vitebsk Concert Hall is on track to be completed by summer. It will be equipped with a new illumination, sound amplification, interpreting, and television systems. The renewed airport, railway and bus terminals will welcome numerous guests of the festival. New facilities will be put into operation by the international festival. These will be a pyramid of the Marko-City business center and new piers on the Western Dvina river. The total cost of the renovations in Vitebsk is estimated at over Br370 billion. The Slavonic Bazaar International Art Festival will be held in Vitebsk on 8-14 July.БЕЛТА
