Vitebsk Evistor, Riga electric plant to produce MTZ component parts
VITEBSK, 30 May (BelTA) – Vitebsk-based Evistor and Riga plant of electric appliances AS RAR have agreed to produce import-substituting component parts for agricultural equipment, BelTA learned from Evistor’s chief engineer Tofik Aivazov. Belarusian and Latvian companies are eager to launch the production of windshield wipers and control boards for Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark). To date the plant purchases this equipment from Russia, Poland and Ukraine. AS RAR transfers the technology to manufacture over 150 items of equipment and a casting mold to Evistor, helps launch the production of component parts. “Evistor will be transferred the whole production cycle. It is a beneficial offer,” Tofik Aivazov stressed. In future the parties are eager to set up a joint venture. Founded in 1966, Evistor manufactures spare parts for agricultural equipment, light industry and medical equipment. The company employs over 500 people. In January-April 2011 the plant produced Br6.6 billion worth of products, labor productivity went up 60% over the same period last year. Founded in 1946, Riga plant of electric appliances AS RAR is a manufacturer of control equipment for the automobile industry and tractor construction.БЕЛТА
