Vitebsk company Simurg intends to put CE mark on all its products in 2010

VITEBSK, 29 January (BelTA) – The Vitebsk-based company Simurg intends to put a CE mark on all its medical products in 2010, BelTA learnt from deputy director of the company Oleg Akhtanin. At present, the company puts CE marking on 60% of the produced medical goods. To expand the use of the CE marking, Simurg is preparing to certify its quality management system in conformity with the ISO 13485 standard which is the special standard for the medical goods produced in Europe. According to Oleg Akhtanin, it will allow the company to boost its export possibilities on the competitive European market. Moreover, in 2009 Simurg recertified its quality management system in conformity with the ISO 9001 standard of 2009 version. Simurg exports around 70% of its products. In 2009 the company increased export supplies by 35% as against 2008. Simurg exports medical goods to ten countries including the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Ukraine and Middle Asia countries. The medical goods of the Vitebsk company are also exported to Poland, Romania and Cyprus. In 2001 Simurg is preparing to enter the markets of Hungary and the Czech Republic. At present, the medical goods produced by Simurg are being registered in the health ministries of these countries. According to specialists, the Middle East and Far East markets are also promising for Simurg products. The Vitebsk-based medical company Simurg was founded in 1991. It specializes in manufacturing medical products for obstetrics, gynecology and urology including intrauterine contraceptives and medical instrument. Simurg actively cooperates with Vitebsk State Medical University and the Acoustic Engineering Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in innovation activity.
