Vitebsk-based Simurg extends its reach into Finland
VITEBSK, 12 September (BelTA) – Vitebsk-based medical company Simurg is going to ship the first consignment of goods to Finland, BelTA learned from deputy director of the company Sergei Tetyuyev. There are plans to deliver products which belong to the first category of risk to Finland, according to Sergei Tetyuyev. In the future Vitebsk-based company is planning to gain a firm foothold in Finland’s market and expand the range and geography of exports to the European Union. To date about 60% of products comply with the European Union directive on the security and quality of medical goods. In order to expand the range of products, goods, which belong to the second and third categories of potential risk, will be certified in line with the standard ISO 13485. This specialized standard for medical products will help Simurg mark all the products and boost the export capacity of the company in the market of Western Europe, Sergei Tetyuyev explained. Previously the company shipped small consignments of goods to Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Cyprus. In 2011 Vitebsk-based Simurg also advanced into the market of Turkmenistan where the company registered two gynecologic products. Moreover, the company has completed the registration of eight goods in Kazakhstan, one product in Uzbekistan. Simurg has gained a firm foothold in the CIS market. In January-August Simurg’s export went up 30% as against the same period last year. The output gained almost 25%. Exports account for about 70% of all products. The medical company Simurg was founded in 1991. It specializes in medical products for midwifery, gynecology, urology, etc. All products meet the ISO 9001:2009 standard. The company cooperates with the Vitebsk State Medical University and the NASB Technical Acoustics Institute.БЕЛТА
