Verkhnedvinsk-made mozzarella, ricotta cheeses now in retail

VITEBSK, 5 December (BelTA) – In view of the forthcoming celebration of Christmas and New Year the Belarusian company Verkhnedvinsk Cheese and Butter Making Plant (Yan Syrodel trademark) has shipped the first batches of mozzarella and ricotta cheeses to retail chains, representatives of OAO Verkhnedvinsk Cheese and Butter Making Plant told BelTA. The new import-substituting food is made by the limited liability company Verkhny Lug, which had been in turn founded by Verkhnedvinsk Cheese and Butter Making Plant and the Russian company OOO Crown Trading. Crown Trading is a major exporter of Belarusian dairy products in Russia. The newly established company specializes in soft cheeses. The founders have acquired the latest equipment from France and Italy, which is yet unparalleled in Belarus. The new equipment can make three tonnes of cheese per hour. The entire process is fully automated and displayed on monitors. Representatives of the company told BelTA that the process to make mozzarella cheeses had been mastered with assistance of Italian specialists, who praised the professional skills of their Belarusian colleagues. The Verkhnedvinsk-made mozzarella is made out of premium quality milk using a natural fermenting agent and bacterial yeast. At present the company makes mozzarella ciliegi and mozzarella bocconcini varieties. In the near future the company plans to start making semihard cheese mozzarella scamorza and chechil type cheeses. About 80% of Verkhny Lug’s output will be exported.
