Unemployment in Vitebsk Oblast at 0.8% in January-July
VITEBSK, 31 August (BelTA) – As of 1 August the registered unemployment in Vitebsk Oblast was 0.8% of the economically active population of the country. The situation on the labor market was stable, BelTA was told in the committee on labor, employment and social security of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee. As of 1 August, over 4,700 people were registered as unemployed while the number of vacancies at enterprises and organizations was more than 6,000. In January-July, 21,200 people were placed in permanent jobs, including 12,800 unemployed. Among the unemployed almost 39% were young people aged 16 to 29 years, more than 36% were women. Some 2,400 people in particular need of social protection were placed into new jobs and existing vacancies. Vitebsk Oblast ensured labor rehabilitation of 23 unemployed people with disabilities, which envisages partial reimbursement of labor costs to employers. In January-July, 1,600 unemployed took training courses. More than 330 unemployed people, including 114 women received financial support from the Social Security Fund to start their own business. In addition, 66 families of the unemployed moved to a new place of residence and employment, primarily in rural areas, with financial support from the Social Security Fund. Public paid works were organized for 7,600 people, of which 5,100 unemployed.БЕЛТА
