Strong hope for lengthy, interesting cooperation between Belarus, Russia's Tatarstan Republic
Before meeting with Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko Head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov talked to reporters about cooperation with Belarus in road construction, BelTA has learned.
Rustam Minnikhanov remarked that road construction is in full swing in Russia. The major motorway M12 took three years to build. It is supposed to be commissioned in 2023. Apart from that, work is in progress on the M7 motorway. There is also the Shali-Bavly big road project, which provides for linking the M7, M5, and M12 motorways.
The M12 motorway and M7 motorway are federal projects while the Shali-Bavly road is a republican one. Rustam Minnikhanov said: “When we started evaluating the amount of work, we realized we will not pull it off. Then we learned that Belarusians are the best road construction workers. They sprang into action very fast. They started working last year already. We intend to secure considerable progress in construction this year.”
The head of Tatarstan stressed he is satisfied with the work with Belarusian partners. “They are genuine professionals. I think we have a long and interesting history ahead of us,” he concluded.
