Some 15 crews to represent Belarus at Slavonic Cup rally in Braslav

BRASLAV, 21 May (BelTA) – Belarus is going to promote automobile races, Chairman of the Central Council of the DOSAAF association Major General Anatoly Stepuk said at the opening of the Slavonic Cup international rally in Braslav on 21 May, BelTA has learnt. At present DOSAAF promotes 19 air-technical sports. Automobile races are among the most spectacular sports. The holding of an international race in Braslav is a remarkable event for the national automobile sport. The race is included in the official calendar of the International Automobile Federation. Apart from that, the third round of the Open Championship of Russia is held in Belarus for the first time simultaneously with one of the rounds of the Rally Championship of Belarus. The Vitebsk Oblast was chosen the venue for these events for a reason, as the oblast is a recognized center of automobile sport of Belarus. It plays host to national automobile races, motocross, etc. A total of 55 crews from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine and Lithuania take part in the race. Belarus is represented by 15 crews.
