Small business could spearhead economic growth in Vitebsk oblast
NOVOPOLOTSK, 13 January (BelTA) – Business has the potential to promote the development of Vitebsk Oblast, Alexander Kosinets, chairman of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee, told BelTA when commenting on Directive No. 4 “On the development of entrepreneurship and stimulating business activity in Belarus”. Small and medium enterprises, individual entrepreneurs can contribute to the effective development of all sectors of the economy, Alexander Kosinets believes. In 2011-2015 Vitebsk Oblast will implement 25 investment programs that cover all areas from energy to tourism. Entrepreneurs can make a contribution to each of them, said Alexander Kosinets. However, entrepreneurs need government support, first of all with training. “Entrepreneurs have to learn, they need to gain legal, economic knowledge,” said the governor. During 2011-2012, Vitebsk Oblast will allocate Br58 billion to support business. Vitebsk, Orsha, Polotsk and Novopolotsk will set up business centers and business incubators. In turn, the state relies on the support of entrepreneurs in the implementation of social projects. “The cooperation should be mutually beneficial,” said Alexander Kosinets.БЕЛТА
