Shadows of the past to fill Jesuit collegium in Orsha on Museum Night

VITEBSK, 14 May (BelTA) – Shadows of the past will fill the Jesuit collegium in Orsha on the Museum Night on 22 May, BelTA learned from representatives of the Orsha region history and culture museum complex. On this day all fans of history, magic, fantasy world and adventurs will be able to dive into mystical illusions. As they approach the collegium, visitors will be welcomed by shadows of the past – the White Lady, the Black Monk, soldiers of the Napoleon army, fantastic cat women, medieval knights and fair maidens. Within the walls of the ancient building visitors will see an exhibition of photos of unusual events, an exhibition of ancient artifacts which purpose has not been determined. Visitors will be able to try to guess their intended purpose and try to guess the contents of a black box. A strict mentor, a Jesuit teacher will remind visitors about the need to stay silent. He will hold a lesson of Latin in a classroom. Visitors will be able to have their knowledge of Latin tested. If successful, Chancellor of the Great Duchy of Lithuania Lev Sapega will congratulate them and award them. Unexpected and interesting things will be aplenty in other halls of the collegium on this mysterious night. In one of them many hours of cartoons about spirits and magic will be available non-stop. In another one visitors will be able to ask an oracle about secrets of the past and the future. One has to be careful when in the room of fear: the organizers promise truly frightening surprises. On the Museum Night the clock of the Jesuit collegium will remind of the time more frequently, using sounds of the owl, howl of the wolf and other heart-stopping effects instead of the usual chiming. The Museum Night has become a prominent cultural event in Europe since 2005. Every year more than 2,000 museums in 40 countries take part in the action.
