Shadow of Jerusalem exhibition to open in Vitebsk

VITEBSK, 6 September (BelTA) – An exhibition of Israeli photographer Leonid Padrul will open in the Vitebsk Oblast Museum of Local History on 7 September, BelTA has learned. The Shadow of Jerusalem exhibition comprises 29 photographs without any computer manipulation. The photos are dedicated to biblical stories. They feature conflicts and the search for eternal values. The artist portrays magnificent landscapes of Jerusalem and the Dead Sea. His works show the sacred light of the ancient city in contrast with darkness and vicious aspects of life. Beautiful photos inspire the endless dialogue on the essence of reality. The artist uses his photos to appeal to the inner world of people, display the history of ancient and modern Israel, according to the museum. The exhibition is sponsored by the Embassy of Israel in Belarus. It has been already held in Minsk and other Belarusian cities. The exhibition in Vitebsk will stay open till 7 October. Photographer Leonid Padrul, member of the UNESCO International Federation of Photographic Art, is the head of the photography department of the Eretz Israel Museum in Tel-Aviv. Leonid Padrul’s Dead Sea photos were published in photo magazines of Israel, Russia, Thailand, Denmark and Czech Republic. The Nature TV Channel made a film about the photographer and his projects.
