Seven countries to partake in Polotsk Watercolor Biennale
VITEBSK, 5 April (BelTA) – Over 60 artists from seven countries have applied for participation in the 3rd International Biennale “Water+Color” in Polotsk, BelTA learnt from Larisa Lysenko, chief of the arts gallery of the National Polotsk History and Culture Museum-Reserve. This event has been organized by the museum-reserve and the Belarusian Union of Artists. The biennale major theme will be Watercolor Space. Watercolorists from Belarus, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Slovakia, and Ukraine have confirmed their participation in this forum. According to Larisa Lysenko, works for the Polotsk biennale have been selected with the help of creative unions. The forum will feature the best artworks of the established artists. The biennale will open on 3 June. The round table “Watercolor as creative space” is scheduled to take place on 4 June to give an opportunity for watercolorists, art historians and art critics to discuss the problems of the modern art, get familiar with the development trends of the national watercolor schools. The exhibition will stay open till 7 August. Its opening ceremony at the Palace of Arts in Minsk will take place on 18 October. Special catalogues of the 3rd International Watercolor Biennale will be published by this time.БЕЛТА
