Russia removes all travel restrictions for Belarusians

Russia has decided to remove all travel restrictions for Belarusian nationals, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin said, BelTA informs.

“At midnight on 18 March Moscow time, all restrictions on the movement of citizens within the Union State of Russia and Belarus will be lifted,” Mikhail Mishustin said at a government meeting on 17 March. “We talked about it with Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko in Moscow at the beginning of the week and got the go-ahead from the president,” the Russian premier added.

“Freedom of movement is important for trade and economic cooperation and humanitarian contacts between our fraternal peoples. This matter is taking on new significance now in the face of increased restrictions on the part of unfriendly countries,” the Russian premier said.

“I am convinced that stronger integration within the Union State will be the best response to the sanctions against Russia and Belarus,” Mikhail Mishustin emphasized.
