Revenues to Vitebsk Oblast budget 20% up due to simplified taxation system
VITEBSK, 1 March (BelTA) – Tax payers of Vitebsk Oblast, who apply the simplified taxation system paid more Br25.5 billion to the region’s budget in January 2011 (20% up over January 2010), BelTA learnt from the press center of the Vitebsk oblast Office of the Tax ministry. As of 1 February, more than 4, 800 legal entities and about 6,500 businessmen in Vitebsk Oblast apply the simplified taxation system. The system has recently become increasingly popular among the tax payers. The number of persons applying this system grows 30% every year. Some 60% of those applying the simplified taxation system operate in Vitebsk, Novopolotsk and Orsha. These businessmen pay the taxes in time. For instance, as of 1 February, only eight such taxpayers had indebtedness to a total of Br66.4 million. In January 2011, small business entities in Vitebsk Oblast paid more than Br74 billion worth of taxes (the revenues from legal entities were Br61.1 billion, revenues from private businessmen made up more than 13 billion). Twenty-three entities had indebtedness to the total sum of Br2.1 billion (the debt decreased by almost Br1.4 billion as against January 2010). All in all, more than 37,000 business entities are registered in Vitebsk Oblast.
