Postavy Dairy to export $1mln worth of animal oil to Kazakhstan in H1 2009

The Postavy Dairy is planning to export $1 million worth of animal oil to Kazakhstan, the company told BelTA. In line with the contract signed in 2008, the company will dispatch nearly 350 tonnes of oil to Kazakhstan. The first 40-tonne batches have already reached the destination in December 2008 and January 2009. Kazakhstan is a new promising market for Belarus. Proposals for further cooperation are being currently elaborated. The company is also considering an opportunity of expanding its presence on the Mexican market where first batches of casein were exported last year. In 2008, the company produced Br33 billion worth of products, 16.6% up from 2008. The company made 656 tonnes of cheese and 11,900 tonnes of whole milk products (the level of 2007), 954 tonnes of animal oil (65%) and 611 tonnes of casein (63%). The exports accounted for 47% of the total output. The company exported over $8 million worth of products, 1.5 times up from 2007. The major importers are Russia, Germany, Poland and Latvia. Founded in 1963, the company was transformed into an open joint stock company in 1998. The Postavy Dairy produces cheese, whole milk products, casein, ice cream, mayonnaise.
