Postavy Dairy Factory spends about Br2bn on reconstructing whole milk workshop

Postavy Dairy Factory has invested about Br2 billion in the reconstruction of the whole milk production shop, including Br1.2 billion spent on new equipment, representatives of the company told BelTA. Working hard to reconstruct the workshop, the company is now performing building and construction works, purchasing and installing equipment without interrupting the operation. The project worth around Br5 billion is supposed to be finished in H2 2009. The reconstruction will increase the whole milk production capacity by 45% (17,500 tonnes per year) and the product range, specifically fermented milk products. The processing line renovation will also decrease energy consumption of the manufacturing process. In 2008 the plant output totalled Br33 billion, 16.6% up in comparison with 2007. The company turned out 656 tonnes of cheeses and 11,900 tonnes of whole milk products (the figures correspond to the 2007 year level), 954 tonnes of butter and 611 tonnes of casein (65% up and 63% up on 2007 respectively). The export share in the total output made up 47%, 19% up on 2007. The company sells its products to Russia, Germany, Poland, and Kazakhstan. The enterprise was founded in 1963, reorganized into a joint-stock company in 1998. Postavy Dairy Factory specializes in cheese, whole milk products, casein and makes ice-cream, mayonnaise in small amounts, about 40 titles, all in all.
