Polotsk to host International Watercolor Biennale
VITEBSK, 7 February (BelTA) – The International Watercolor Biennale “Water+Color” will be held in Polotsk on 3-7 August, BelTA learned from Larisa Lysenko, chief of the arts gallery of the National Polotsk History and Culture Museum-Reserve. This event has been organized by the museum-reserve and the Belarusian Union of Artists. Watercolorists, art historians and art critics from Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, and Ukraine are welcome to participate in this forum. The registration of participants will stay open till 1 April. According to Larisa Lysenko, artists have already started to select works for the biennale in Polotsk. Taking into account the previous experience, this forum will feature works of the most prominent artists. More than 100 watercolorists took part in the first and the second biennale. They exhibited their works and got acquainted with the trends of development of national watercolor painting schools. The round table “Watercolor as creative space” is scheduled to take place with the framework of the third biennale. A special catalogue will be published after the exhibition.БЕЛТА
