Polish company to launch production of construction materials in Vitebsk FEZ
VITEBSK, 27 June (BelTA) – Polish company Decora S.A. will invest about $3 million in the production of construction materials in the Vitebsk Free Economic Zone, BelTA learned from the Vitebsk FEZ Administration. The relevant agreement was concluded after the negotiations between head of the Vitebsk FEZ Administration Sergei Stashevsky and representatives of the Polish investor, a founder of the Vitebsk FEZ resident company Decora East. According to the preliminary data, the investor is eager to buy necessary equipment and revamp production facilities at one of the companies in Vitebsk in 2011. There are plans to launch the production in Q1 2012. Polish company is currently implementing an investment project to manufacture decoration materials in the Vitebsk FEZ. The cost of the project is estimated at over ?7.5 million. The project stipulates the production of PVC footstall and other decoration materials. The Polish investor has bought ten modern extrusion lines and other equipment. The second stage of the project stipulates the construction of a production line with the total area of at least 6,000 square meters in Vitebsk. Almost 90% of products are exported to Russia and Ukraine. The foreign company Decora East also operates on the Belarusian market as there is no analogous production in the country. The Vitebsk Free Economic Zone was founded in August 1999. Today the FEZ implements 40 investment projects. Over 60% of the Vitebsk FEZ resident companies are joint and foreign enterprises established with the participation of investors from 13 countries, including Germany, Poland, the United States, Great Britain, Canada, Czech Republic, Russia, the Netherlands and Israel. The resident companies are engaged in the fuel, chemical, light industries, engineering, food production and research. The FEZ includes seven sectors with the total area of more than 1,200 hectares.БЕЛТА
