"Photos published for the first time." Publisher of teaching aids about the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Second World War

“The publication was published in three books - for the first, second and third stages of general secondary education. Each book has its own characteristics, in particular, for children of primary school we used a certain font, certain illustrations, for older children there are other standards. This publication we prepared in close collaboration with the National Institute of Education and the Prosecutor General's Office. The books reflect the events that occurred during the Great Patriotic War on the territory of our country. It displays information about the punitive expeditions of the Nazi invaders, about the death camps - their on the territory of our countries there were about 580. Contains information about the forced deportation of our population to work in Germany. Also, these books reflect the feat of the Belarusian people in liberating the territory of Belarus from the Nazi invaders. The books provide the latest statistical data as of June 21, 2023, which were published by the Prosecutor General’s Office during the criminal case investigating the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War and in the post-war period,” said Valentin Novogrodsky. He noted that the publications contained photographs and illustrations that were used only by specialists from certain funds. “We were very scrupulous in the selection of photographs, because the psyche of a child has certain age-related characteristics. Psychologists participated in the selection of photographs, since this topic is very difficult and heartbreaking for every Belarusian, especially for a child. There are photographs that were first displayed in print publication. Previously, they were simply the property of specialists in narrow circles. When creating these textbooks, we actively used materials that were published by the Prosecutor General's Office and reflected in the 2022 publication “Genocide of the Belarusian People. Information materials and documents." We also worked closely on the implementation of this project with the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War, archival films, photographic documents not only of our country, but also of Russia," the head informed.
