Petrishenko: Everyone should know what price Belarus paid during Great Patriotic War
Every citizen of Belarus and guests to the of the country should know what price Belarus paid during the Great Patriotic War, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko told the media in the Khatyn memorial complex, BelTA has learned.
"Every person, who have been to Khatyn, who have heard the the bells ringing here, will forever remember the tragic events that took place on our land, the people who died here. So that we could enjoy life, develop the country, study, work, make sports achievements… We can do all this thanks to those who gave their lives during the Great Patriotic War," Igor Petrishenko said.
According to him, the Year of Historical Memory is very important not only for those people who will forever be in our hearts, but for the Belarusian youth. "In order to prevent war, terrible tragedies. This memory should stay in our hearts forever, passed down from generation to generation, so that every citizen of Belarus and guests to the country know what price Belarus paid during the war years," the deputy prime minister emphasized.
