Pertsov about confrontation in mass media: The state and government agencies are under fire
Vladimir Pertsov said: “For now the ongoing hybrid confrontation primarily takes place in the information field. The state and government agencies are under fire. Our opponents or, to put it simply, enemies focus all the attention on the lack of action on the part of our authorities, on the inability to solve some pressing problems of citizens and accomplish state tasks as a whole. As a matter of fact, it cannot be further from the truth.”
The deputy head of the Belarus President Administration pointed out that the Belarusian economy and the prosperity of citizens are on the rise despite a colossal number of sanctions. Apart from that, he noted, the state fulfills all the social tasks it has undertaken.
“In these circumstances we see the propagation of other kinds of rumor, claiming that [the economy] is overheated and so on. You have encountered it as information field workers,” Vladimir Pertsov stressed. “But we observe underperformance on the part of government agencies when they fail to provide timely comments, information support of future managerial decisions of various government agencies. We would like to discuss and work out ways to resolve this problem today.”
Vladimir Pertsov went on saying that everything starting with small regulatory acts and ending with presidential decrees is adopted in Belarus for the benefit of people. “Ours is a people-first state. But since comments are sometimes insufficient or officials, people entrusted with communicating with mass media, avoid questions and answers, we get this information vacuum. Our opponents promptly fill it. As I’ve said, they portray everything from an angle that is not beneficial to us and does not match the reality. To put it simply, they spout blatant lies that distort the essence of these documents and the decisions that get made as a whole,” he added.
The deputy head of the Belarus President Administration noted that these matters will also be discussed today. “We will try to work out some algorithms. Many will be implemented into some statutory enactments that regulate the work of government agencies. In particular, the work of those sectors and specialists, who are responsible for communication with mass media,” he concluded.
